Ok, up until yesterday my auctions site was working, today I see this at the top

Warning: Division by zero in /home/content/v/a/l/valentimanuela/html/auctions/includes/thumbimage.php on line 12

Warning: Division by zero in /home/content/v/a/l/valentimanuela/html/auctions/includes/thumbimage.php on line 13

You can see it here http://www.manuelavalenti.com/auctions/

What happened? why am I seeing that? I checked both lines on the thumbimage.php but I can't see anything wrong?

Thank you in advance for you help

Usually just whitespace at the end or begining of the code caused by bad execution of the page. This is a space or line after the very last ending tag ?> or before the very first <? if no html before it. Can be removed by placing your cursor

|<? and hitting backspace or
?>
|

and hitting backspace and not deleting the ending tag.

I am getting this error onscreen on my live website whenever the hosted image is unavailable (seller's server down) or the uploaded image has been lost from my server.

Not only is it causing an on screen error, but it causes the auction page to take forever to load.

I only have a basic understanding of PHP but can do "monkey see, monkey do" fixes.

I tried the suggested fix by removing white spaces around the opening and closing tags, but it did not fix it.

Is there a way to change the code in thumbimage.php to load the default noimage.gif if the image it expects to find is not there?

Thanks in advance

In thumbimage.php, does your first line look like this?
Code:
<?
error_reporting(0);

It does now :D

That fixed it perfectly. I also used it in:

    view_more_ending.php

    view_more_news.php

which are opened when you click on the "More....." links.

Thank you so very much. Other techie forums had me running in circles with major code changes that achieved nothing or made things worse.

If it wasn't for forums like this, us cowboys wouldn't have a hope of fixing things.

Thanks,

Graham

No problem. That was actually an old fix. You must have have an older version of the code. Glad to know I could help.

Yes it is an old script, in fact a mish-mash of doctored files.

I bought it "new" from Scriptsfeed and it has taken me weeks of burning the candle at both ends to get it working.

The main reason I chose it was because it came with a theme that suited my website, seemed to do all I needed and was cheap.

I can't afford to spend $200-$400 or more on a venture that may never take off. Plus my site would just look like everyone else's in Australia.

Hopefully that was the last major bug in the script - touch wood :)
