Minimal server requirements are as follows:
- Apache web server
- PHP 4.0.6 or later (see below) with safe_mode=Off - register_globals=on - no open_basedir restriction
- MySQL Database - 3.0 or higher
- "Cookies" MUST be enabled on your computer!

Please note that PHPAuction GPL Enhanced 2.51 is not compatible with PHP 5.x.

The recommended web server is Apache web server. The PHPAuction GPL Enhanced V2.51 auction script has been succesfully tested under different Unix/Linux environment.

Please note that some installation problems have been reported when using Microsoft web servers. We do not support the Windows operating system!

MySQL being the most popular Open Source Database designed for speed, power and precision in mission critical, heavy load use was the obvious choice for the PHPAuction GPL Enhanced V2.51 auction software.

The PHPAuction GPL Enhanced V2.51 auction script also requires the ability to set up cron jobs (under *nix systems). This is needed to periodically run the script (cron.php) responsible for checking expired auctions, updating the database accordingly, and sending notification e-mails to sellers and buyers.

If you don't have access to cron, the PHPAuction GPL Enhanced V2.51 auction software can be set in admin to automatically have cron.php run from your index.php page. (see Tutorials section in the Manual).
